Find out what we have been up to this season and what we have planned for the rest of the year. This is only the start for Wheels Up North and we can't wait to grow the community.
Season 1 recap.
In our first year, we put on our first 4 events. We are extremely thankful for the support we received and it really grew our passion to continue.
After the lockdown restrictions ended, we were raring to get going. Our planning had been put on pause at the start of the year, however in July we got the chance to run our first event. We managed to bring over 80 vehicles together on a Thursday evening. Despite the rain, everyone enjoyed the company, food and atmosphere.
Over the next few months, we managed to run 3 more events (2 evening meets and 1 weekend show). Our weekend show managed to bring together over 540 vehicles all together. The sun came out and everyone had a great time. We learnt a lot and were excited to get going for season 2.
Keep reading below to find out what we have done so far this year and our plans for the coming months.
So far this year.
We had two options to start the year. We could either wait around until we were able to get back to our grass venue or we could keep the community growing throughout the year and find some other venues. As mentioned earlier, the passion had grown more and more and therefore we worked on finding some alternatives until the summer.
First things first, we organised a couple of coffee mornings at a local pub car park. These were small, free meet ups and we found them to be very popular.
As the community grew, we knew we needed to add something different into the mix, therefore we decided to hire out the Three Sisters circuit exclusively for people to attend a cheap track evening. This was a great night and the weather held out.
We also organised a collaborative meet up at our good friends Detail Garage Preston, where we got some special guests down and saw a great range of vehicles once again.
April is also going to be bringing 2 new events. one is a collaborative event with our friends, RDH Details. This event will have lots of entertainment, good food and trade. Finally, before we head back to our main venue, we are heading over to Leeds to join The Motorist Hub. This should be an amazing event and we can't wait to expand our community over to the East.
What's to come?
As mentioned above, our next 2 stops are collaborative events with some good friends, however, we are really excited to get started back at our main venue in May.
The Longridge and Goosnargh Showground is an amazing place for us and the views are fantastic.
We have 10 events planned there for the rest of the year and they are all listed below:
- 12th May - Evening (5pm - 9pm)
- 22nd May - Weekend (11am - 5pm)
- 9th June - Evening (5pm - 9pm)
- 26th June - Weekend (11am - 5pm)
- 14th July - Evening (5pm - 9pm)
- 31st July - Weekend (11am - 5pm)
- 11th August - Evening (5pm - 9pm)
- 28th August - Weekend (11am - 5pm)
- 8th September - Evening (5pm - 9pm)
- 25th September - Weekend (11am - 5pm)
But that's not all. We are serious about being more than a car meet. This year we are looking to launch a couple of other amazing projects that we have been working on.
The first being a new brand 'Motor Print House', where we will be creating high quality automotive prints for you to display in your homes, garages and offices. We will be releasing new prints each and every month and also have the option to create your own bespoke art work. Check out the website here.
We are also working on (You are the first to know), a club style membership that will give you all access to some brilliant deals, giveaways and exclusive events. We have been working on teaming up with some of the best automotive related brands around the UK to help save you money when it comes to your pride and joy. From garage flooring to mechanics, artwork to experience days, we plan to include it all.
Finally we are soon to be launching our YouTube content! Here we will be looking to feature our communities vehicles and stories. We want to keep you entertained in every way possible with anything automotive and therefore thought it would be really cool to start creating videos.
2022 Partners
Finally, we wanted to give a warm welcome and special thank you to our new sponsors that have come on board this year to support us in growing this brand.
